1. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
那人便给一切牲畜和空中飞鸟，野地走兽都起了名。只是那人没有遇见配偶帮助他。

2. And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread.
他对女儿们说，那个人在哪里，你们为什么撇下他呢。你们去请他来吃饭。

3. And by him shall be the tribe of Manasseh: and the captain of the children of Manasseh shall be Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.
挨着他的是玛拿西支派。比大蓿的儿子迦玛列作玛拿西人的首领。

4. (That also was accounted a land of giants: giants dwelt therein in old time; and the Ammonites call them Zamzummims;
（那地也算为利乏音人之地，先前利乏音人住在那里，亚扪人称他们为散送冥。

5. And if thou utter this our business, then we will be quit of thine oath which thou hast made us to swear.
你若泄漏我们这件事，你叫我们所起的誓就与我们无干了。

6. And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel; and he said, Because that this people hath transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice;
于是耶和华的怒气向以色列人发作。他说，因这民违背我吩咐他们列祖所守的约，不听从我的话，

7. And Naomi said unto her daughter in law, Blessed be he of the LORD, who hath not left off his kindness to the living and to the dead. And Naomi said unto her, The man is near of kin unto us, one of our next kinsmen.
拿俄米对儿妇说，愿那人蒙耶和华赐福，因为他不断地恩待活人死人。拿俄米又说，那是我们本族的人，是一个至近的亲属。

8. And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The LORD give thee seed of this woman for the loan which is lent to the LORD. And they went unto their own home.
以利为以利加拿和他的妻祝福，说，愿耶和华由这妇人再赐你后裔，代替你从耶和华求来的孩子。他们就回本乡去了。

9. Then Abner looked behind him, and said, Art thou Asahel? And he answered, I am.
押尼珥回头说，你是亚撒黑吗。回答说，是。

10. Then she said, I desire one small petition of thee; I pray thee, say me not nay. And the king said unto her, Ask on, my mother: for I will not say thee nay.
拔示巴说，我有一件小事求你，望你不要推辞。王说，请母亲说，我必不推辞。

11. And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him.
以利沙说，你们拿一个新瓶来，装盐给我。他们就拿来给他。

12. And Hur begat Uri, and Uri begat Bezaleel.
户珥生乌利。乌利生比撒列。

13. The children of Gibbar, ninety and five.
吉吧珥人九十五名。

14. Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.
我回答他们说，天上的神必使我们亨通。我们作他仆人的，要起来建造。你们却在耶路撒冷无分，无权，无纪念。

15. Esther had not yet shewed her kindred nor her people; as Mordecai had charged her: for Esther did the commandment of Mordecai, like as when she was brought up with him.
以斯帖照着末底改所嘱咐的，还没有将籍贯宗族告诉人。因为以斯帖遵末底改的命，如抚养她的时候一样。

16. That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
智慧必使你行善人的道，守义人的路。

17. Therefore I went about to cause my heart to despair of all the labour which I took under the sun.
故此，我转想我在日光之下所劳碌的一切工作，心便绝望。

18. In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;
到那日，人必将为拜而造的金偶像，银偶像，抛给田鼠和蝙蝠。

19. An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law.
是蠢笨人的师傅，是小孩子的先生，在律法上有知识和真理的模范。

20. For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot.
我在古时折断你的轭，解开你的绳索。你说，我必不事奉耶和华。因为你在各高冈上，各青翠树下屈身行淫。

21. Behold, O LORD, and consider to whom thou hast done this. Shall the women eat their fruit, and children of a span long? shall the priest and the prophet be slain in the sanctuary of the Lord?
耶和华阿，求你观看。见你向谁这样行。妇人岂可吃自己所生育手里所摇弄的婴孩吗。祭司和先知岂可在主的圣所中被杀戮吗。

22. Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
但以理说，神的名是应当称颂的。从亘古直到永远，因为智慧能力都属乎他。

23. I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD.
也以诚实聘你归我，你就必认识我耶和华。

24. But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.
却要使北方来的军队远离你们，将他们赶到乾旱荒废之地，前队赶入东海，后队赶入西海。因为他们所行的大恶（原文是事），臭气上升，腥味腾空。

25. But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.
惟耶和华在他的圣殿中。全地的人，都当在他面前肃敬静默。

26. And again the word of the LORD came unto Haggai in the four and twentieth day of the month, saying,
这月二十四日，耶和华的话二次临到哈该说，

27. Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child's life.
起来，带着小孩子和他母亲往以色列地去。因为要害小孩子性命的人已经死了。

28. But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.
但日子将到，新郎要离开他们，那日他们就要禁食。

29. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
牧羊的人回去了，因所听见所看见的一切事，正如天使向他们所说的，就归荣耀与神，赞美他。

30. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?
犹太人便说，这殿是四十六年才造成的，你三日内就再建立起来吗。

31. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
日头要变为黑暗，月亮要变为血，这都在主大而明显的日子未到以前。徒02：20）日头要变为黑暗，月亮要变为血，这都在主大而明显的日子未到以前。

32. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
我已经与基督同钉十字架。现在活着的，不再是我，乃是基督在我里面活着。并且我如今在肉身活着，是因信神的儿子而活，他是爱我，为我舍己。

33. And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
并且被建造在使徒和先知的根基上，有基督耶稣自己为房角石。

34. For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state.
因为我没有别人与我同心，实在挂念你们的事。

35. Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
你们若是与基督同死，脱离了世上的小学，为什么仍像在世俗中活着，

36. For ye are our glory and joy.
因为你们就是我们的荣耀，我们的喜乐。

37. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
在大户人家，不但有金器银器，也有木器瓦器。有作为贵重的，有作为卑贱的。

38. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
虚浮的人哪，你愿意知道没有行为的信心是死的吗。

39. For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
你们若因犯罪受责打，能忍耐，有什么可夸的呢。但你们若因行善受苦，若能忍耐，这在神看是可喜爱的。

40. For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
倘若他们因认识主救主耶稣基督，得以脱离世上的污秽，后来又在其中被缠住制伏，他们末后的景况，就比先前更不好了。

41. But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
你们从那圣者受了恩膏，并且知道这一切的事。（或作都有知识）

42. Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
然而有一件事我要责备你，就是你容让那自称是先知的妇人耶洗别教导我的仆人，引诱他们行奸淫，吃祭偶像之物。
