1. Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
不可指着地起誓，因为地是他的脚凳。也不可指着耶路撒冷起誓，因为耶路撒冷是大君的京城。

2. While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?
还说话的时候，有人从管会堂的家里来说，你的女儿死了，何必还劳动先生呢。

3. But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.
但日子将到，新郎要离开他们，那日他们就要禁食了。

4. He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
约翰是点着的明灯。你们情愿暂时喜欢他的光。

5. And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.
就对众人说，以色列人哪，论到这些人，你们应当小心怎样办理。
