1. The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
雅弗的儿子是歌篾,玛各,玛代,雅完,土巴,米设,提拉。

2. And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.
属以拦的子孙,耶歇的儿子示迦尼对以斯拉说,我们在此地娶了外邦女子为妻,干犯了我们的神,然而以色列人还有指望。

3. And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son's son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the LORD.
并要叫你将我向埃及人所作的事,和在他们中间所行的神迹,传于你儿子和你孙子的耳中,好叫你们知道我是耶和华。

4. And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.
就有火从耶和华面前出来,把他们烧灭,他们就死在耶和华面前。

5. Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.
你要用银子作两枝号,都要锤出来的,用以招聚会众,并叫众营起行。

6. And I will write on the tables the words that were in the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark.
你先前摔碎的那版,其上的字我要写在这版上。你要将这版放在柜中。

7. That they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all the men thereof were mighty.
就甚惧怕。因为基遍是一座大城,如都城一般,比艾城更大,并且城内的人都是勇士。

8. And he judged Israel twenty and three years, and died, and was buried in Shamir.
陀拉作以色列的士师二十三年,就死了,葬在沙密。

9. When thou art departed from me to day, then thou shalt find two men by Rachel's sepulchre in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say unto thee, The asses which thou wentest to seek are found: and, lo, thy father hath left the care of the asses, and sorroweth for you, saying, What shall I do for my son?
你今日与我离别之后,在便雅悯境内的泄撒,靠近拉结的坟墓,要遇见两个人。他们必对你说,你去找的那几头驴已经找着了。现在你父亲不为驴挂心,反为你担忧,说,我为儿子怎么才好呢?

10. Then said David, I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father shewed kindness unto me. And David sent to comfort him by the hand of his servants for his father. And David's servants came into the land of the children of Ammon.
大卫说,我要照哈嫩的父亲拿辖厚待我的恩典厚待哈嫩。于是大卫差遣臣仆,为他丧父安慰他。大卫的臣仆到了亚扪人的境内。

11. And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.
跟随她到耶路撒冷的人甚多,又有骆驼驮着香料,宝石,和许多金子。她来见了所罗门王,就把心里所有的对所罗门都说出来。

12. Now as soon as this letter cometh to you, seeing your master's sons are with you, and there are with you chariots and horses, a fenced city also, and armour;
你们那里既有你们主人的众子和车马,器械,坚固城,

13. And the Philistines followed hard after Saul, and after his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchishua, the sons of Saul.
非利士人紧追扫罗和他儿子们,就杀了扫罗的儿子约拿单,亚比拿达,麦基舒亚。

14. And it came to pass, when Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who was in Egypt, whither he had fled from the presence of Solomon the king, heard it, that Jeroboam returned out of Egypt.
尼八的儿子耶罗波安先前躲避所罗门王,逃往埃及,住在那里。他听见这事,就从埃及回来。

15. Seraiah, Azariah, Jeremiah,
祭司。西莱雅,亚撒利雅,耶利米,

16. And all the acts of his power and of his might, and the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai, whereunto the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?
他以权柄能力所行的,并他抬举末底改使他高升的事,岂不都写在玛代,和波斯王的历史上吗。

17. I will say unto God, Do not condemn me; shew me wherefore thou contendest with me.
对神说,不要定我有罪。要指示我,你为何与我争辩。

18. The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
恶人在骄横中,把困苦人追得火急。愿他们陷在自己所设的计谋里。

19. Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.
不义之财,毫无益处。惟有公义,能救人脱离死亡。

20. A wise man's heart is at his right hand; but a fool's heart at his left.
智慧人的心居右。愚昧人的心居左。

21. To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!
为要屈枉穷乏人,夺去我民中困苦人的理,以寡妇当作掳物,以孤儿当作掠物。

22. Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
耶和华如此说,你们不要效法列国的行为,也不要为天象惊惶,因列国为此事惊惶。

23. And he spake unto the man clothed with linen, and said, Go in between the wheels, even under the cherub, and fill thine hand with coals of fire from between the cherubims, and scatter them over the city. And he went in in my sight.
主对那穿细麻衣的人说,你进去,在旋转的轮内基路伯以下,从基路伯中间将火炭取满两手,撒在城上。我就见他进去。

24. In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.
当那时,我但以理悲伤了三个七日。

25. Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall spoil their images.
他们心怀二意,现今要定为有罪。耶和华必拆毁他们的祭坛,毁坏他们的柱像。

26. For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd.
因为,家神所言的是虚空,卜士所见的是虚假,做梦者所说的是假梦。他们白白地安慰人。所以众人如羊流离,因无牧人就受苦。

27. Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
这十二使徒的名,头一个叫西门,又称彼得,还有他兄弟安得烈。西庇太的儿子雅各,和雅各的兄弟约翰。

28. And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.
有法利赛人来问他说,人休妻可以不可以,意思要试探他。

29. Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
就对他们说,要收的庄稼多,作工的人少。所以你们当求庄稼的主,打发工人出去收他的庄稼。

30. But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
从门进去的,才是羊的牧人。

31. A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.
他是个虔诚人,他和全家都敬畏)神,多多周济百姓,常常祷告)神。

32. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
我们可以证明他们向神有热心,但不是按着真知识。

33. And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
都在云里海里受洗归了摩西。

34. But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
有人以为我是凭着血气行事,我也以为必须用勇敢待这等人,求你们不要叫我在你们那里的时候,有这样的勇敢。

35. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
若不然,献祭的事岂不早已止住了吗。因为礼拜的人,良心既被洁净,就不再觉得有罪了。

36. And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,
他手里拿着小书卷是展开的。他用右脚踏海,左脚踏地。
