1. If thou at all take thy neighbour's raiment to pledge, thou shalt deliver it unto him by that the sun goeth down:

2. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

3. And the angel of the LORD went further, and stood in a narrow place, where was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left.

4. But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so is this matter:

5. Therefore we said, Let us now prepare to build us an altar, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice:

6. With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.

7. And the king of Israel said, Take Micaiah, and carry him back unto Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king's son;

8. For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.

9. The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.

10. Be not thou one of them that strike hands, or of them that are sureties for debts.

11. And I will cast thee out, and thy mother that bare thee, into another country, where ye were not born; and there shall ye die.

12. Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

13. Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.

14. But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.

15. When the centurion heard that, he went and told the chief captain, saying, Take heed what thou doest: for this man is a Roman.
