1. And he lodged there that same night; and took of that which came to his hand a present for Esau his brother;
当夜，雅各在那里住宿，就从他所有的物中拿礼物要送给他哥哥以扫。

2. Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it for ever.
求你记念你的仆人亚伯拉罕，以撒，以色列。你曾指着自己起誓说，我必使你们的后裔像天上的星那样多，并且我所应许的这全地，必给你们的后裔，他们要永远承受为业。

3. And the LORD's anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had done evil in the sight of the LORD, was consumed.
耶和华的怒气向以色列人发作，使他们在旷野飘流四十年，等到在耶和华眼前行恶的那一代人都消灭了。

4. He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;
耶和华使他乘驾地的高处，得吃田间的土产。又使他从磐石中咂蜜，从坚石中吸油。

5. Know ye not what I and my fathers have done unto all the people of other lands? were the gods of the nations of those lands any ways able to deliver their lands out of mine hand?
我与我列祖向列邦所行的，你们岂不知道吗。列邦的神何尝能救自己的国脱离我手呢。

6. Lest ye should say, We have found out wisdom: God thrusteth him down, not man.
你们切不可说，我们寻得智慧。神能胜他，人却不能。

7. Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city:
荆棘蒺藜必长在我百姓的地上，又长在欢乐的城中，和一切快乐的房屋上。

8. And I charged Baruch before them, saying,
当着他们众人眼前，我嘱咐巴录说，

9. I will destroy also all the beasts thereof from beside the great waters; neither shall the foot of man trouble them any more, nor the hoofs of beasts trouble them.
我必从埃及多水旁除灭所有的走兽。人脚兽蹄必不再搅浑这水。
