1. And he commanded the foremost, saying, When Esau my brother meeteth thee, and asketh thee, saying, Whose art thou? and whither goest thou? and whose are these before thee?
又吩咐尽先走的说，我哥哥以扫遇见你的时候，问你说，你是哪家的人，要往哪里去，你前头这些是谁的，

2. And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said unto Moses, There is a noise of war in the camp.
约书亚一听见百姓呼喊的声音，就对摩西说，在营里有争战的声音。

3. But we ourselves will go ready armed before the children of Israel, until we have brought them unto their place: and our little ones shall dwell in the fenced cities because of the inhabitants of the land.
我们自己要带兵器行在以色列人的前头，好把他们领到他们的地方。但我们的妇人孩子，因这地居民的缘故，要住在坚固的城内。

4. They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.
所祭祀的鬼魔并非真神，乃是素不认识的神，是近来新兴的，是你列祖所不畏惧的

5. He wrote also letters to rail on the LORD God of Israel, and to speak against him, saying, As the gods of the nations of other lands have not delivered their people out of mine hand, so shall not the God of Hezekiah deliver his people out of mine hand.
西拿基立也写信毁谤耶和华以色列的神说，列邦的神既不能救他的民脱离我手，希西家的神也不能救他的民脱离我手了。

6. I said, I will answer also my part, I also will shew mine opinion.
我也要回答我的一分话，陈说我的意见。

7. And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
公义的果效，必是平安。公义的效验，必是平稳，直到永远。

8. Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:
主耶和华阿，你曾用大能和伸出来的膀臂创造天地，在你没有难成的事。

9. It came to pass also in the twelfth year, in the fifteenth day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
