1. These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brethren; and the lad was with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives: and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report.
雅各的记略如下。约瑟十七岁与他哥哥们一同牧羊。他是个童子，与他父亲的妾辟拉，悉帕的儿子们常在一处。约瑟将他哥哥们的恶行报给他们的父亲。

2. And he overlaid it with pure gold within and without, and made a crown of gold to it round about.
里外包上精金，四围镶上金牙边，

3. Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.
听阿，神轰轰的声音，是他口中所发的响声。

4. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
因为他们如草快被割下，又如青菜快要枯乾。

5. And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests covered with sackcloth, unto Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.
使家宰以利亚敬，和书记舍伯那，并祭司中的长老，都披上麻布，去见亚摩斯的儿子先知以赛亚。

6. But neither he, nor his servants, nor the people of the land, did hearken unto the words of the LORD, which he spake by the prophet Jeremiah.
但西底家和他的臣仆，并国中的百姓，都不听从耶和华藉先知耶利米所说的话。

7. And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.
他使我从骸骨的四围经过，谁知在平原的骸骨甚多，而且极其枯乾。
