1. And we said unto my lord, We have a father, an old man, and a child of his old age, a little one; and his brother is dead, and he alone is left of his mother, and his father loveth him.
我们对我主说，我们有父亲，已经年老，还有他老年所生的一个小孩子。他哥哥死了，他母亲只撇下他一人，他父亲疼爱他。

2. If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;
倘若我们忘了神的名，或向别神举手，

3. He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?
他以灰为食，心中昏迷，使他偏邪，他不能自救，也不能说，我右手中岂不是有虚谎吗。

4. Then Jeremiah said unto all the people, to the men, and to the women, and to all the people which had given him that answer, saying,
耶利米对一切那样回答他的男人妇女说，

5. Neither shall they shave their heads, nor suffer their locks to grow long; they shall only poll their heads.
不可剃头，也不可容发绺长长，只可剪发。
