1. He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
日间云柱,夜间火柱,总不离开百姓的面前。

2. And if it spread much abroad in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it is a plague.
若在皮上发散开了,祭司就要定他为不洁净,是灾病。

3. And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)
他们从南地上去,到了希伯仑。在那里有亚衲族人亚希幔,示筛,挞买。原来希伯仑城被建造比埃及的锁安城早七年。)

4. Balaam also the son of Beor, the soothsayer, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among them that were slain by them.
那时以色列人在所杀的人中,也用刀杀了比珥的儿子术士巴兰。

5. And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.
玛挪亚对他的妻说,我们必要死,因为看见了神。

6. So it came to pass in the day of battle, that there was neither sword nor spear found in the hand of any of the people that were with Saul and Jonathan: but with Saul and with Jonathan his son was there found.
所以到了争战的日子,跟随扫罗和约拿单的人没有一个手里有刀有枪的,惟独扫罗和他儿子约拿单有。

7. And Absalom spake unto his brother Amnon neither good nor bad: for Absalom hated Amnon, because he had forced his sister Tamar.
押沙龙并不和他哥哥暗嫩说好说歹。因为暗嫩玷辱他妹妹他玛,所以押沙龙恨恶他。

8. But camest back, and hast eaten bread and drunk water in the place, of the which the Lord did say to thee, Eat no bread, and drink no water; thy carcase shall not come unto the sepulchre of thy fathers.
反倒回来,在耶和华禁止你吃饭喝水的地方吃了喝了,因此你的尸身不得入你列祖的坟墓。

9. But Hazael king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.
约哈斯年间,亚兰王哈薛屡次欺压以色列人。

10. And the rest of the acts of Abijah, and his ways, and his sayings, are written in the story of the prophet Iddo.
亚比雅其馀的事和他的言行都写在先知易多的传上。

11. And I commanded the Levites that they should cleanse themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the sabbath day. Remember me, O my God, concerning this also, and spare me according to the greatness of thy mercy.
我吩咐利未人洁净自己,来守城门,使安息日为圣。我的神阿,求你因这事记念我,照你的大慈爱怜恤我。

12. Then call thou, and I will answer: or let me speak, and answer thou me.
这样,你呼叫,我就回答。或是让我说话,你回答我。

13. A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.
善人给子孙遗留产业。罪人为义人积存赀财。

14. And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.
豺狼必在他宫中呼号。野狗必在他华美殿内吼叫。巴比伦受罚的时候临近,他的日子,必不长久。

15. And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts discovered, and thy heels made bare.
你若心里说,这一切事为何临到我呢。你的衣襟揭起,你的脚跟受伤,是因你的罪孽甚多。

16. Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:
我不使义人伤心,你们却以谎话使他伤心,又坚固恶人的手,使他不回头离开恶道得以救活。

17. He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
撒在荆棘里的,就是人听了道,后来有世上的思虑,钱财的迷惑,把道挤住了,不能结实。

18. For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
因为假基督,假先知,将要起来,显神迹奇事。倘若能行,就把选民迷惑了。

19. And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
耶稣往耶路撒冷去,在所经过的各城各乡教训人。

20. Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake.
门徒彼此对看,猜不透所说的是谁。

21. And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.
既废了扫罗,就选立大卫作他们的王。又为他作见证说,我寻得耶西的儿子大卫,他是合我心意的人,凡事要遵行我的旨意。

22. And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.
弟兄们,我略略写给你们,望你们听我劝勉的话。
