1. And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
神说，水要多多滋生有生命的物，要有雀鸟飞在地面以上，天空之中。

2. Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.
神厚待收生婆。以色列人多起来，极其强盛。

3. And the children of Reuben, Israel's eldest son, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
以色列的长子，流便子孙的后代，照着家室，宗族，人名的数目，从二十岁以外，凡能出去打仗，

4. And I said unto you, Ye are come unto the mountain of the Amorites, which the LORD our God doth give unto us.
我对你们说，你们已经到了耶和华我们神所赐给我们的亚摩利人之山地。

5. And they gave Hebron unto Caleb, as Moses said: and he expelled thence the three sons of Anak.
以色列人照摩西所说的，将希伯仑给了迦勒。迦勒就从那里赶出亚衲族的三个族长。

6. And she said unto them, Call me not Naomi, call me Mara: for the Almighty hath dealt very bitterly with me.
拿俄米对他们说，不要叫我拿俄米（拿俄米就是甜的意思），要叫我玛拉（玛拉就是苦的意思），因为全能者使我受了大苦。

7. Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD.
哈拿就怀孕。日期满足，生了一个儿子，给他起名叫撒母耳，说，这是我从耶和华那里求来的。

8. Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.
不要在迦特报告。不要在亚实基伦街上传扬。免得非利士的女子欢乐。免得未受割礼之人的女子矜夸。

9. And thou, my lord, O king, the eyes of all Israel are upon thee, that thou shouldest tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.
我主我王阿，以色列众人的眼目都仰望你，等你晓谕他们，在我主我王之后谁坐你的位。

10. And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,
约坍生亚摩答，沙列，哈萨玛非，耶拉，

11. And when the king's decree which he shall make shall be published throughout all his empire, (for it is great,) all the wives shall give to their husbands honour, both to great and small.
所降的旨意传遍通国（国度本来广大），所有的妇人，无论丈夫贵贱都必尊敬他。

12. Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,
约伯便起来，撕裂外袍，剃了头，伏在地上下拜。

13. Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:
智慧在街市上呼喊，在宽阔处发声。

14. But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
若不听从，反倒悖逆，必被刀剑吞灭。这是耶和华亲口说的。

15. Behold, O LORD; for I am in distress: my bowels are troubled; mine heart is turned within me; for I have grievously rebelled: abroad the sword bereaveth, at home there is as death.
耶和华阿，求你观看，因为我在急难中。我心肠扰乱。我心在我里面翻转，因我大大悖逆。在外，刀剑使人丧子。在家，犹如死亡。

16. Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
灵往哪里去，活物就往那里去。活物上升，轮也在活物旁边上升，因为活物的灵在轮中。

17. And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.
王考问他们一切事，就见他们的智慧聪明比通国的术士和用法术的胜过十倍。

18. The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness.
田野的走兽向你发喘。因为溪水乾涸，火也烧灭旷野的草场。

19. And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel shall possess that of the Canaanites, even unto Zarephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.
在迦南人中被掳的以色列众人，必得地直到撒勒法。在西法拉中被掳的耶路撒冷人，必得南地的城邑。

20. And the LORD shewed me four carpenters.
耶和华又指四个匠人给我看。

21. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
正思念这事的时候，有主的使者向他梦中显现，说大卫的子孙约瑟，不要怕，只管娶过你的妻子马利亚来。因他所怀的孕，是从圣灵来的。

22. And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.
耶稣随既招呼他们。他们就把父亲西庇太，和雇工人留在船上，跟从耶稣去了。

23. And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.
到了时候，这话必然应验。只因你不信，你必哑吧不能说话，直到这事成就的日子。

24. And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
他就明说，并不隐瞒。明说，我不是基督。

25. For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.
因为诗篇上写着说，愿他的住处，变为荒场，无人在内居住。又说，愿别人得他的职分。

26. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
自从造天地以来，神的永能和神性是明明可知的，虽是眼不能见，但藉着所造之物，就可以晓得，叫人无可推诿。

27. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
智慧人在那里文士在那里。这世上的辩士在那里。神岂不是叫这世上的智慧变成愚拙吗。

28. For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
神的应许，不论有多少，在基督都是是的，所以藉着他也都是实在的，（实在原文作阿们）叫神因我们得荣耀。

29. Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.
我写给你们的，不是谎话，这是我在神面前说的。

30. Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
就是照他在基督身上，所运行的大能大力，使他从死里复活，叫他在天上坐在自己的右边，

31. According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
照着我所切慕所盼望的，没有一事教我羞愧，只要凡事放胆。无论是生，是死，总叫基督在我身上照常显大。

32. And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
既然藉着他在十字架上所流的血，成就了和平，便藉着他叫万有，无论是地上的，天上的，都与自己和好了。

33. Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.
其中有许米乃和亚历山大。我已经把他们交给撒但，使他们受责罚，就不再谤渎了。

34. Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.
兄弟阿，望你使我在主里因你得快乐。（或作益处）并望你使我的心在基督里得畅快。

35. For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
因为人的怒气，并不成就神的义。

36. Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
基督在创世以前，是豫先被神知道的，却在这末世，才为你们显现。

37. Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
第一要紧的，该知道经上所有的预言，没有可随私意解说的。

38. But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
亲爱的弟兄阿，你们却要在至圣的真道上造就自己，在圣灵里祷告，

39. The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.
论到你所看见在我右手中的七星，和七个金灯台的奥秘。那七星就是七个教会的使者。七个灯台就是七个教会。
