1. And the children of Benjamin went out against the people, and were drawn away from the city; and they began to smite of the people, and kill, as at other times, in the highways, of which one goeth up to the house of God, and the other to Gibeah in the field, about thirty men of Israel.
便雅悯人也出来迎敌，就被引诱离城。在田间两条路上，一通伯特利，一通基比亚，像前两次，动手杀死以色列人约有三十个。

2. For as long as the son of Jesse liveth upon the ground, thou shalt not be established, nor thy kingdom. Wherefore now send and fetch him unto me, for he shall surely die.
耶西的儿子若在世间活着，你和你的国位必站立不住。现在你要打发人去，将他捉拿交给我。他是该死的。

3. And his servants said unto him, Behold now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings: let us, I pray thee, put sackcloth on our loins, and ropes upon our heads, and go out to the king of Israel: peradventure he will save thy life.
他的臣仆对他说，我们听说以色列王都是仁慈的王，现在我们不如腰束麻布，头套绳索，出去投降以色列王，或者他存留王的性命。

4. And Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah: he was thirty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
约沙法作犹大王，登基的时候年三十五岁，在耶路撒冷作王二十五年。他母亲名叫阿苏巴，乃示利希的女儿。

5. For when ye offer your gifts, when ye make your sons to pass through the fire, ye pollute yourselves with all your idols, even unto this day: and shall I be enquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you.
你们奉上供物使你们儿子经火的时候，仍将一切偶像玷污自己，直到今日吗。以色列家阿，我岂被你们求问吗。主耶和华说，我指着我的永生起誓，我必不被你们求问。

6. And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.
众人责备他们，不许他们作声。他们却越发喊着说，主阿，大卫的子孙，可怜我们吧。

7. And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died.
那七个人，都娶过他，没有留下孩子就死了。

8. But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
但记这些事，要叫你们信耶稣是基督，是神的儿子。并且叫你们信了他，就可以因他的名得生命。

9. Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
所以你们应当儆醒，记念我三年之久，昼夜不住的流泪，劝戒你们各人。
